20 Years of Back Disk Pain... Poof

A man receiving treatment from a chiropractor

One Friday night I went to a friend’s house for the Sabbath meal. My friend’s husband came home with a couple of his friends. One in particular caught my eye. He was shuffling along with a hand on his back and slightly bent over, obviously in a lot of pain.

During the meal I asked what was happening with his back, he was drinking a lot to help take the edge off the pain. “Disk issues, I’ve had them for a while.” I told him that after the meal I can help him to alleviate the pain if he likes. Of course, he agreed.

When we began, I received a description of the pain, which was very sharp in the lower back, and almost everything aggravated it. Laying down with some pain killers would take it down enough to get some sleep. Currently it rated around 9 out of 10.

He sat in a dining room chair, and I put my hand over his shoulder. “Is it ok to start with some energy?” He looked a little puzzled, “sure”. Within a few minutes the pain got somewhat better than worse again. “That’s a good sign, that the pain is able to shift.”

Then I proceeded with the QPR line of questions. He had no problems with the ones about G-d, but when it went into what happens before we come into this life, he was kind of surprised and was just barely hanging in with me.

After working through the first emotion the pain went down to around a 7 out of 10. After the second a 5. And after the third a 3. I’m not 100% sure of the emotions since a recording wasn’t made. I think they were anger, grief and fear.

After working through the third emotion he wanted to stop, saying that he felt much better. We had been at it for over an hour. “That’s fine” I said. “From here it usually dissipates on its own within a day or so.”

The next morning my friend’s husband saw him in the synagogue and said that he was walking normal. Everyone, especially the client, was amazed.

This was the second ever QPR client. Much later I found out that he had been in pain for over 20 years. It was completely gone after one session and hasn’t returned.
